Comedy Magic with Mr Magipatch
Mr Magipatch is best described as a tasteful explosion in a paint factory, dressed in patchwork with big coloured glasses. Not a clown but clownish. The magic always works - eventually. The show always includes one or two puppet appearances. Children's party shows are 45 mins long. Please note that real animals are not used.
Professor Mystral's Punch and Judy
First shown 1975. Traditional old fashioned show with hand-carved wooden puppets and the authentic squeaky voice of Mr Punch. Has been seen all over Britain and has represented Britain in Italy. Different sizes of puppet show theatre used so will fit nearly everywhere. Full length Punch & Judy show 35 minutes long. Shorter shows for fetes etc 15-20 minutes, children's birthday party shows 45 minutes (20 magic, 25 Punch and Judy) or 60 minutes long (35 magic, 25 Punch & Judy with a break in the middle).
Balloon Modelling
Also known as balloon twisting or sculpting. The art of turning balloons into swords, hats, flowers, dogs, cats, dinosaurs, abominable snowmen etc. Available either as an addition to a children's party show or as a walkabout artiste. Balloon modelling is the perfect party entertainment for children and adults of all ages.
Birthdays
Birthday party shows are 45 minutes long. This can be extended with Prof. Mystral into 60 minutes (35 mins magic, break, 25 mins Punch and Judy). With this show a present and card are given by Mr Punch. In the Mr Magipatch show they are made by magic. Balloon modelling is available as an extra.
Outdoor Events
Mr Magipatch is available as a walkabout entertainment artiste with numerous puppets, balloons and pocket magic. Prof Mystral is obviously suitable with Punch and Judy. Balloons can be twisted between shows. For Victorian/Edwardian events Professor Mystral can dress appropriately.
Schools, Nurseries
Between 1980 and 1990 I toured primary schools in over 20 different counties throughout England & Wales. Nowadays I travel as requested. Full-length Punch and Judy is 35 mins long and I am happy to extend this with a question-and-answer session. Mr Magipatch is too daft to answer questions but can give a very entertaining show. The Mr Magipatch Show is not suitable for children under 3. He is, however, very happy to do walkabout sessions to entertain this age group. This includes meeting lots of entertaining and comical puppets, a little story-telling, songs and if requested, balloon animals.
Walkabout
Also known as meet-and-greet or mix-and-mingle. Mr Magipatch, in best velvet suit, will wander here and there accompanied by various entertaining & friendly puppets. These come in sizes ranging from finger mice to a five foot long dragon. He will also make balloon animals and possibly do a little magic.
This type of free roaming entertainment is perfect for fetes, garden parties or children's outdoor birthday parties.
Puppets
Professor Mystral looks after Punch and Judy and other puppet plays. Mr Magipatch is too stupid to do a play. He tries to oversee the puppets who make guest appearances in his show. The Gallery has pictures of a few of our puppets. Some do magic, some play music, and some would just like to meet and entertain you.
Museums, Libraries
Punch and Judy have entertained people at many museums and libraries over the years. This has often been as part of a special event. It can be accompanied by a short talk on the history of the Punch & Judy show if required.
Future Plans
Short puppet plays as alternatives to Punch and Judy. Juggling workshops, balloon workshops, Flea Circus. At the moment I am searching the world for the finest small performers: If you live outside Britain and own a talented flea I will be happy to audition them, please note that you must pay all expenses.
